4 Ways In Which Oasis Might/Will Return

It’s been dominating the tabloids, the twitter accounts, the Chinese Whispers at Reading and Leeds: Oasis are no more. Except, we’ve heard this before. And the departure of Noel Gallagher seemed slightly anti-climactic. Nevertheless, many big names have been quick to react (some, extremely positively) to the news. We at MFM remain slightly indifferent and underwhelmed. We’re more focusing in on how they’ll come back. Because they will, let’s face it.

1. Headline Glastonbury 2010
Michael Eavis has already let his loose lips go nuts by saying the 2010 festival’s line-up will be made up of Glastonbury-favourites from “over the years”, hence the anniversary. And even though Liam Gallagher has publicly bashed the festival for its hippie antics, don’t rule out a return to out-publicise the glorious re-incarnation of Blur this year.

2. 2019 Comeback Tour
We reckon it’ll take about ten years for, if Oasis are serious about this whole splitting up business, to get a bit bored and want to play music again. Honestly, this isn’t on par with the Smiths’ bust-up and a comeback tour is certainly something that money can buy for this lot.

3. A ‘Surprise’ Reunion At One Of Noel’s Solo Shows
Lil’ Noel seems more content on plugging his solo content at the present time. So one can only assume that’s where he’ll head next. We also presume that he’ll play some shows to go with the release and that at one of them, probably one in a London venue, his old chums will play “surprise surprise” and come out of nowhere.

4. On ‘I’m A Celebrity (Get Me Out Of Here)’
It seems frighteningly inevitable that one of the two Gallaghers or more likely, one of the cronies, will appear on a reality tv show at some point in the near future. So expect to see Noel sulking in the Australian jungle before Liam comes tumbling down from a tree, dressed as a caveman, and they all have a laugh and a catch-up.
