NEW// Johnny Foreigner – Feels Like Summer
TRACK REVIEW: Johnny Foreigner – Feels Like Summer
Words: Gareth O’Malley

What’s that sound? It’s the sound of new music. Johnny Foreigner are back. The first single from the as-yet-untitled second album is due out on June 8th (confirmed, according to Keeping Some Dark Secrets), and lets us know from the off that things have been stepped up a notch. The band are perfectly capable of topping the stellar ‘Waited Up Til It Was Light’, in my opinion, and this song tells us that they’re well on their way. The refrain of ’sum-summer, sum-summer’ gives way to razor-sharp guitars, and lyrics delivered in typical Johnny Foreigner style – in other words, at a hundred miles an hour. Driven by Kelly Southern’s bass, the song is probably the most immediate thing they have done to date. Onwards and upwards for JoFo, then, and with the album due in the autumn, it seems that there is plenty more where this came from. Keep yr eyes peeled.

P.S. Here’s the artwork. If you’re wondering why it’s not where it should be, it fucked up the layout of the post when I put it in. Twice. So I’m linking to it instead.
