New Music: Phoenix – ‘Fences’

‘1901′ was a triumphant pop gem and by the looks of things, as is the rest of the new record, ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’. ‘Fences’ has a funk underline but is dominated by the kind of glossy pop sound that really catches people’s attention at the moment. If this gets released, a sure-fire hit is on the cards.
It’s less up-tempo than everything else on the record but that’s not to say it’s not danceable. Perfect music for the accompanying sunrise that’s to the left of me.
