‘Veckatimest’ leaks, an open letter to fans

AN OPEN LETTER TO FELLOW GRIZZLY BEAR FANS
What’s emerged in the last 24 hours is a low quality rip of the third studio album by Grizzly Bear. When I say low quality, I mean low quality. For those of you who are downloading it, with the intention of keeping what you hear…I’m not sure entirely what I should be telling you to do here. Either, hold out, wait for a better quality leak and then judge it. Or simply pre-order the album this very second, and carry on enjoying what you’re hearing. For those of you who’ve yet to inquire, remember, curiosity killed the cat. Warp are on the case for the ‘casual’ leaker.
I’m not saying I don’t condone music downloading, I’m just saying that most people should have it in them to wait for the real thing, be it for free or in exchange for a note of cash. Because frankly, this isn’t the real thing whatsoever.

I’m trying to be zen about the album leaking because I’m “ok” with it, but I’m bummed. And apparently it’s [a] low quality rip. So now everyone will be judging it off of a crappy rip. Sigh…. Was hoping to make it to at least april! I’m cool with it just….so early!
